If you've got the gusto, do the whole scene with a group of friends before a big moment in your life. Make sure to emphasize "We CLAW with our FINGER NAILS" , "THE SIX INCHES IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE", and "that's gonna make the FUCKING difference between WINNING AND LOSING. Between LIVING AND DYING!" ...You're going to have to be pretty drunk.
